Hi all,

We are so glad to have hundreds of Joomla! users downloading and liking JQuarks. Version 0.2.3 was released yesterday and it has been already downloaded 145 times!

To make it better, I'm writing this sticky post to receive all your feature requests. It will help us find out what Joomla! & JQuarks users want to see in future releases.

So what are you missing in JQuarks and how do you imagine its future releases ?

You're welcome Fadi,

It's up to you, but I recommend you too to migrate to the last version of Joomla!, it's always recommended to install the security updates included in each new release.

It will also let you avoid waiting for such fix since it's not included in the roadmap.

Greetings,

-Mahmoud MHIRI

RE: New features in JQuarks: Request For Proposal - Added by Michael Heßburg 795 days ago

Hi Mahmoud,

It would be great if I can display the results of the user as a feedback (similar to the backend) and the overall results of all users in a highscoretable at the end of a quiz.
Something like this:
Maximum Points to be reached: 50
Name Points
User1 33
User3 22
User2 11
User4 5
...

Absolutly fantastic would be a correction text in the detailed results of the user showed at the end of a quiz.
i.e.:
What's the name of the first computer invented for home use?
Simon was the first computer, invented for use at home. Edmund Berkely, the founder of ACM, created it at 1949.

What's the name of the first Arcade-Machine?
Pong was the first Arcade-Machine. It was invented bei Atari, founded by Nolan Bushnell. Pong was a copy of the "Brown Box", created by Ralph Baer at Magnavox.
- only as a feedback for the users.

Regards
Michael

A good issue is to redirect the user that just finished the answers to a page for a free "gift" or any other page.
Or one of a set of pages depending on the results of the answers.

First let me congratulate you on a great component.
Something I think might be an idea is to have a module that shows XXX top scores & who got them, something I have had in a programme for J 1.0.15 (from Joomlearn) my users enjoyed looking to see how they were doing against their friends. I think it'll help bring this along along way

RE: New features in JQuarks: Request For Proposal - Added by petu nia 793 days ago

Thanks for this great component!
I think you can add some statistics to finish the exam, for example show which questions were answered correctly and which were not answered correctly showing which was the correct answer, and also display text that explains why this is the answer correct.

RE: New features in JQuarks: Request For Proposal - Added by Dave Alder 793 days ago

I have noticed that the people that have taken some of my quizzes are shown as their real name, is there anyway we could either show it as their Joomla user name, or have an option in the back end for the administrator to choose if they wanted user names or real names

RE: Feature Request - Added by Mahmoud M'HIRI 791 days ago

Submitted via email by equilibrium_soft:

would be helpful if respondents could receive the results
immediately, or be shown a percentage of correct answers

Feature requested by borge iversen

Is it possible to incorporate a mass invitation to all registered users?

Hi,

Do you mean the list of quizzes's session where for each sessions user's first name and last name are shown as well as their e-mail address ? If so yes it's possible to make it so administrators choose either to display real name or username.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Dave Alder 790 days ago

Thanks for replying.
That's what I mean, Also, if you do create a module to publish say the top xxx score/scorers that would be icing on the cake as I see it.

Dave

Hi,

very new users of JQuarks, pls find the first feedback from users :

Would be great to received the results and the right answers with explanations after completed the quiz ( email to the user and admin seems to be appreciated )

Congratulations again for this very powerfull tools !

Hi!

Thanks for great component!

It would be great to have ability to change the quantity of points, which are adding when the answer is correct.

PS it would be great New year present if you post the new version of your component with showing results and other new functions in 2009 ;)

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Mahmoud M'HIRI 784 days ago

Thank you so much Sergey for your nice words.

You mean 2010 I guess. I confirm, we are working hard on JQuarks roadmap and you will definitely find all what you need in the next major release.

Somme new features are already reported in the roadmap of 0.3, and several features claimed in this list are going to be included in this release too, so keep reporting all what you need and Happy new year 2010!

Best Regards,

Feature requested by Michael Müller in thread Quiz Highscore / Daily Quiz

I want to give my users a daily quiz with one question per day. For each question they can get a point for the highscore-result.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Raimana Teina 778 days ago

First, please excuse me for my poor english.
Let me congratulate you for this great component. This is a very good job. Thanks a lot.
I'm making a quiz with more than 300 questions in several categories. In addition of quizzes in each categorie, I'd like users allow to do a random quiz with all questions in each categorie. Actually the solution is to create a random categorie and add all the 300 questions. It should be good to be able to choose all categories for the random.

Again, congratulations....

I think that it would be great that when someone makes the quiz, he or she could see the results in the frontend. Right now, only the Administrator can see the results of the quiz, but the person who took the effort to make it, he or she cant know how good he or she made. I think this is a very important point.

Best wishes!

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Edward Ocampo 774 days ago

I would like to see the component have a capability of a "Question of the Week"-style. It would have a front-end feel of the Poll component with immediate feedback and Rationale (refer to Question.jpg). And have a feedback like the Poll but, also have the answer and Rationale (Feedback.jpg).

Question.jpg - Front-end Question (25.4 KB)

Feedback.jpg - Front-end Feedback (35.7 KB)

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Kaustav Das Modak 772 days ago

Thanks for this component :)

It would be helpful to have multiple rounds of quizzing, where achieving a certain score will unlock the next round of quizzing. Currently, it has to be done manually from the administrative backend, where administrators can manually check which users have completed some particular round of quizzing successfully and then those users can be set in 'User Affection' list for another round of quiz. It would be great if this can be automated by starting a score-based evaluation system.

Also, it will be useful if input field verification can be done based on a single proposition entered in the question.

Hello Jquarks team !

First, I want to thanks you for this excellent component that works very fine.
The only problem is that we can't see our results after the quizz, but I have see that you develop such option in the future, so it's all right !
I'll be patient.

Secondly, I have few request about this component :

- Is it possible to assignate and/or notifiate all user in one click ? At present time, it is not very handy to select user one by one, especially if we have more than three hundred users (or more).
But, better like that, is it possible to simply display the private quiz to all registered user ?

- Another function that will be fine : possibility to add specific answer to each question. And when user see his results, he also see explications (detailed answers) for each question too.

That's all ! :)

Thanks for your answers !

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Enrico Cerica 752 days ago

Don't know if this has already been submitted, it would be very usefull to be able to organize the pages based on the categories or group of questions instead of an amount of questions per page.

I'd like to add that it would be also a good idea having the posibility to see all the results of the answers or just the answers you've answered wrong.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by sanane banane 726 days ago

1-) user to decipher the test

but

2-) user is not notified by email..

3-) How do I troubleshoot email responses

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Dave Alder 693 days ago

I know a lot of people are asking for the results to be published in the front end, how about a twist on this theme, by having a module that will display the top xx (xx an amount of users taken the quiz like the top 10) with their scores published, then it would be up to us if we publish those stats or not.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Mahmoud M'HIRI 693 days ago

Thank you Dave for the suggestion. Yes, it could be very useful for some use cases. It will be considered while discussing the next roadmap.

Thanks again.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by sann kumar 689 days ago

It could be useful if following features make available:
1. assign marks for correct/wrong Questions.
2. On result page display total correct Question and total wrong Question with marks.
3. Allow to print/pdf as icons available in general article page.
4. possible make report on comparison between different user's performance in Quiz.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by pippo pippo 661 days ago

First of all thanks for your job... just one request.
Is it possible to rate the answares?
I'm asking it because I should have 3 weight to the answares.
1 to the right one
-0.5 to the wrong one
0 to the not answared
and it would be cool to have the count at the end ;)

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Tomas F 615 days ago

Hi
I´m planning on using this application for educational purpose, so for my situation I would like the possibility of one question at a time (I know this already works).
And after answering the question the right answer to appear, together with the question so you can learn, and try to understand why my alternativ was wrong. This also means that I would like to disable the feature of using next/back question.

What I visualize is something like...

" Question 1---> User choose A--> Alternatives disappear and "Correct answer is C" is presented---> Click on mouse--> Next question”

My programming skills are not so helpfull, since I have just started working with php. So I can´t solve this problem alone.
Can you help me, or maybe include this option in future releases?

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Mahmoud M'HIRI 615 days ago

Hi Thomas,

It looks interesting, it was already suggested and it will be seriously considered in JQuarks roadmap.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards.

Hello
I've installed jQuark and its working ok. Thanks.

Some humble wishes
1 I would like Admin to be able to recall the correcting response. It sometimes gets corrected wrong and then I would like to recall my mistake.
2 Better support on Video and other media in the editor. Might consider to use Joomla editor?
3 Plugin to present quizzes in articles
4 Nice looking export results to PDF and email to candidate manually
5 Possibility to activate quizzes by profile group

I'm working on Swedish language file ....

(This forum changed from englis to something else, is it possible to change back to english or swedish)

"Plugin to present quizzes in articles"

+1.

I don't know if/understand how to make questions in my articles (if that's even possible - that plugin won't work with my editor, its not the traditional joomla one), but if not a plug in to put JQuarks in articles would be awesome

RE: Feature Requests - Added by Y X 272 days ago

Great component. Almost exactly what I was looking for.

I miss these features:
1. Explanation for correct answer.
2. High-score table
3. Option to mark user's contact details as "not required".

Regards.

RE: Feature Requests - Added by K A R Wright 242 days ago

Perhaps you've already got it in hand, but I couldn't find anything on searches. It would be hugely useful for the purpose of surveys in particular (if not quizzes) to be able to sort questions in the component of Joomla. While the lack of the feature can be overcome in a very small survey, it must be a huge issue in certain larger type ones where to perhaps try and add a Q in the middle of a block or otherwise change the order manually would surely put people off bothering with the component completely.

Just a thought. Awesome component otherwise :)

RE: Feature Requests - Added by harsh gupta 162 days ago

this component realy works great!!! hats off
the only feature missing is the ability of the admin to assign particular marks in particular questions
