Hi,

Thank you for using JQuarks and reporting this issue.

I have tried JQuarks under 1.5.14 but didn't succeed in reproducing, after digging in code, it seems to me that this is caused by the fact that you do not have the plugin Editor - TinyMCE actived.

You can check activation state of plugins under Extension => Plugin manager

Thank's for answered and help.

Unfortunatly, TinyMCE looks to be activated in the plugin manager.
TinyMCE2 is unactivated as NoEditor

any other Ideas ?

Hi,

In the Editor - TinyMCE plugin edit page is the plugin filename set to tinymce ? if not please change it to tinymce

If it is already tinymce, fixing this issue will require that we take a look at your setup. If you are experiencing this issue in a local Joomla setup could you please send us the Joomla! folders and a dump of the database ? You can e-mail them to me directly

Hi,

@Fritz thecat :
  • Could you please tell us which editor you are using ? As for version 0.2.3 JQuarks only support TinyMCE
  • Have you the same issue that benoit gailllardet reported ?
  • Does JQuarks or Joomla show any error message ?
  • Which versions of PHP/Apache/MySQL are you using ?

Hi,

issue was solved :
As indicated by mohamed TinyMCE should be the only Editor used with JQuarks
I ve found on mywebsite 2 differents versions of tinyMCE : 2 and 3.
I've just de install TinyMCE3 and that's works.

Unfortunatly, I also loose all the TiyMCE3 features ...

Fritz, have a look in your config.php file. $edtitor value does look like TinyMCE and not TinyMCE3 like me

Hi

It seems I have the same problem.
Only TinyMCE 2.0 is activated.
Cannot use save, save and continue, or apply when adding a new question.
No error message dislayed, just does not work.
Installed on Joomla 1.5.8 and legacy mode running PHP5 MySQL 5.0

What can I do ?

Hi,

Thank you for using JQuarks,

This is due to an older version of the TinyMCE Editor prior to version 1.5.12
JQuarks need at least TinyMCE v 3.2.4.1 provided with Joomla version 1.5.12 and above

We would recommend updating to the latest version of Joomla instruction on how to proceed can be found here

Hi
Thanks for your very prompt reply !
Upgrading to a newer version of Joomla is a very risky process and the site has been live for a while already.
Are you sure there is really no other way ?

You are welcome.

You could also try and install TinyMCE v3.2.4.1 on your 1.5.8 version, though it's better and easier to upgrade Joomla itself, moreover it's safer to use latest version (currently 1.5.15) since older version have vulnerabilities issues.

I recommend subscribing to Joomla Security news to be updated on latest issues.

As for risk related to updating, as long as you backup your database and site's files there is no risk in updating Joomla, in worst case you could easily rollback. And in order to minimize the downtime I recommend practicing on a local instance before going for the production one.

Hope this help,
Regards
